Cumulative Exams

To prepare for the Cumulative Exams, read the assigned pages (check the Schedule for the pages covered on each Exam). Take notes while you are reading the textbook and online links. Review your notes before you begin the Cumulative Exams.

The Cumulative Exams are TIMED. You get roughly one minute per question. That is more than enough time to select an answer-- but not quite enough time to look answers up! You only have one chance to take each exam so please be sure you are ready BEFORE you begin testing.

Your best strategy is to read the question carefully and ELIMINATE WRONG CHOICES. The answer that is correct is usually correct only because there is nothing wrong with it, not because it is such a profound truth!

Taking the Cumulative Exams

Please check WEBCT and the Schedule for test availability and submission deadlines.

Access these exams on WEBCT. Go to http://webct.dvc.edu/webct/public/home.pl

Log in using your 7-digit Datatel School ID (including leading zeros). Your password is your 6-digit date of birth (e.g. Feb. 15, 1982 would be 021582).

Open the appropriate Weekly Assignments folder and click on the "Cumulative Exam" link. All the available exams will be displayed in the center of your screen. Click on "CUMULATIVE EXAM 1" to open the exam.

Cumulative Exams are set to deliver one question at a time. You are permitted to go back and review your answers--but I urge you NOT to change your answers! (Statistically, this is how you shoot yourself in the foot.)

Take your time, work carefully but efficiently, and remember to SAVE your answers as you go.

Your work will be automatically graded. Your score will appear in "My Grades" as soon as you submit the exam. If your score is 40 or better, you are in good shape to get an A in the class!
